Srry for being direct or if i sound rude but please why don't u end one story properly then start other. Shifting previous half focus on other book when u r updating previous one in once a month basis sounds very i know don't know what yo say.
          I understand getting an idea in ur head and that urge to present it in front of your reader is too exciting but plz reconsider.
