Sharon was born in Seattle, Washington in 1952. Growing up a Navy dependent, Sharon frequently moved as a young child. Sharon finished her undergraduate studies at Central Washington University earning a B.A. in English.  Later, Sharon earned an M.B.A. from City University and an M.F.A. in writing from the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts.

Sharon's career at Boeing spanned 34 years, working in Seattle as well as the Washington DC metro area. While pursuing her own professional career, Sharon raised three daughters. Sharon had several interests and hobbies including sewing, knitting, music, and spoiling her grandchildren, the delights of her life. A voracious reader and writer, Sharon wrote several short stories and novels including the Legend of Shi-lin and Morning Song.
