I started this account in 2011, when I was 13 and my love for writing had initially begun. Now that I'm in college as an English major, I thought I'd give writing another go! I'm 19 and from Southern California. Apart from being a student, I am a bass drummer and dancer who is heavily involved in and passionate about the marching arts.
Enter. Delete.
Stares at computer screen and reads. Attempts to write something else.
Grunts and drags document that has been worked on for the past 4 and a half hours into the recycle bin.
This is the pesky life of a writer. You disapprove of your own writing and feel ashamed if you can't find the right word, no matter how close it is on the tip of your tongue. You feel the urge to keep writing and writing, no matter how much your eyes feel like they're going to pop straight out of your head. Unlike your eyeballs, you are not out of your mind; this tenacity is what makes a writer a writer. You have what it takes; the passion, the drive, and most of all, the "I have to make this perfect" attitude. Of course there are the times when you'll think "What if this only makes sense to me?", or you'll look back and say, "This is horrible; how could I have written that?" But that is the beauty of crafting words into art; only you can create your own masterpieces.
