Sneak preview of The Story of Us.
It was a beautiful morning in San Diego California when Heather Perkins woke up in the tiny trailer she shares with her alcoholic abusive boyfriend Tom. She knew she had to leave him, but she didn’t know how. She takes a deep breath and goes to get ready for work. She had gotten good at covering and hiding her bruises from her kindergarteners and parents. Fifteen minutes later she’s ready for the day and quietly leaves the trailer and starts her fifteen minute walk to work.
Ten hours later Heather is back at home cooking dinner when Tom walks into the trailer. She hears Tom yell about dinner being late, she tries to ignore him, but suddenly her world goes black.
