Okay, update (not announcing this to prevent being annoying, this is just for if anyone (me included) is looking for my plans)--

I just spent all afternoon/evening yesterday reading my own work with undivided focus for hours, so the interest is back. Some of it makes me cringe/sigh, though, because of course it was just self-indulgent fun, but I keep thinking GODDDD this scene could be so much better if I hadn't just put the first random thing to pop into my head because I thought it would be funny and I was allergic to ever using a second idea. lol.

Anyways I think I'm going to "rewrite" all 4 of my books, starting with Soft Robotics and Little Wars. Soft Robotics is going to become the draft I was working on called "Poetic Justice" because it basically has the same story, except I treated the writing process like it might be a real book I might pitch to an agent with, like, real plot and tension etc.

For Little Wars, I realized I didn't hit my stride until like 70k words and a year into into that book lmfao. I read it all the way through yesterday, hit around chapter 18 (wherever that chapter-long cuddling scene is) and was like "ohhhhh, THIS is the book." That hiking scene? UH, YEAH. I'm gonna cut down a lot of extraneous stuff and work on the pacing. I think that book can really work.

So once I get those drafts done I'll start re-releasing them.

Going to see Thunderbolts in hopes that Marvel Laboratories has produced enough successful broody sexyman scenes to reactivate my conditioning and trigger a recurrence of my Bucky fixation for the next 1-2 years, wish me luck. If you hear from me in the next 3 days it means the trial worked. I’m off my meds again, and I have been reacting with an involuntary interest suggestive of classical conditioning in preliminary exposures to all the f*cking ads I keep getting for this f*cking movie, so conditions are promising

Marvel: look here’s a bunch of Bucky shots that make u nostalgic for other times u have seen Bucky, doesn’t this make u fondly remember all the other times Bucky has been Bucky

Me: *sighs, opens laptop, pays for 1 month of Disney plus*

Hey y’all sorry I’ve been gone; I’ve been working on an original project. Would anyone read if I put a high fantasy romance book on kindle unlimited? Think ACOTAR setting-wise but with the style of my books (chaotic MC, banter, etc) on here. Not sure how much the readership would overlap but maybe some? Idk. I’ve been working on it for about a year and it’s close to done.

I want to update my fanfics too; I haven’t abandoned them. I just gotta work a day job too to pay the bills lol. Combined with some life stuff, it’s been a lot! But Maisie and Grace continue to bounce around my head. If I don’t update Remains before Halloween, someone please send me hate mail <3

Big Captain America fan here so I was really astonished when I read your book! Easily became one of my favorites. I'm definitely looking forward for the future chapters. Anyway, Happy New Year's Eve!

Hey thanks! One thing I tell myself is to remember that this is a genre I enjoy reading, so I'm a good judge of whether something is worth reading, including my own work... if I like writing it, and I like imagining the scene over and over and even re-immersing myself on a re-read, then chances are other people will also get something out of reading it... and if they don't like it, then fck them lol, nobody's paying u; it only matters if u have a good time and got what u wanted out of it. You're not going to write a fanfic that pleases everybody--likewise, nobody's going to write a fanfic that's exactly what you're looking for, that's why u gotta write your own, haha. At least, that's why I do it. I also think the more u write, the more u develop ur style, learn to make more specific and nuanced choices, and feel more in control of the reigns, so the best thing to do is just do it... a lot of advice people give on how to produce "good" writing is bullsh*t and overly constraining imo, so I try not to get hung up on it and trust my own instincts. I don't take anything as an immovable, unnegotiable rule w writing. Jeez I'm writing a lot here... thanks again!!
