added 2 extra scenes in the later chapters of TTR and everything between those flows a little nicer now instead of just abruptly going from one conclusion to another big scene. right now i’m hoping to finish an earlier chapter (13) which i added completely, and after that, i want to start pushing out The Tide Rises rewrite #10382848 <3

i dunno if i mentioned it here before, but this next rewrite will be a new book because of the extra things i added and i see it as more of a finalized version of the constant editing i’ve done over the currently published one. when the new one is uploaded, the other one will stay up and serve as an unfinished archive.

          	thanks for following along :>

i also feel the newer scenes add extra backstory information and possibly character development which makes everything a little more comprehensible ^-^

I did it. I finished the outline, and it makes so much sense, and it is everything I can ask for in a proper ending for The Tide Rises and the faction war. And right as I finished it, the most perfect, calming ending type song started playing from my spotify playlist. You don't understand how ETHEREAL I feel right now

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but I’ve been rereading The Tide Rises after not touching it for probably a year now and I can’t even lie I’m fangirling over my own writing. Sometimes those writing tip posts I see on Instagram say to take a break from your story and come back later to help with motivation, and I see what they mean because oh my god??? i just got a new spark and i feel like i NEED to tie things up

Originally my plan was to finish the first two stories of my trilogy before going back so that everything would make sense to me. I was writing a thing in my notes about how I have new ideas that I want to re-incorporate in a rewrite and then about the point just above (i like to write long A/N’s that are never actually gonna be published :P) and then I realized that The Tide Rises stands fine on its own with the small explanations of past events that aren’t put in finished/published chapters of the previous stories. I think where my motivation fell flat—aside from just wanting to game all day instead of anything else—is telling myself I need everything to be published so that everything makes sense.

There was also the part where I didn’t have the ending actually planned out, as well as Siona’s role which made me throw it in last minute and then confuse myself further. I think what I might do is rewrite bits and pieces (again) keeping in mind my finalized ending idea and incorporating Siona earlier so that it makes sense to me again. Anyway thanks for coming to my incoherent 2am ted talk goodnight

one more point but there’s this song that i just started imagining being in an animated trailer for the last segment/final battle of TTR including a speech or whatever that Ocean gives and it hypes me up every time now

also because of the nature of fortnite seasons i want everything to be read without having to know every single bit of background context which i think is what made me enjoy writing TTR the most. i think really it’s all just over-complicating things that zapped away all my writing motivation
