The first SIX chapters of Can I Lean On You is up for your enjoyment. Really wanted to spoil you. And as a teaser, here's one of my favorite excerpts from Chapter 1.

          	***

"I'm going to be living with them. I'll have plenty of time with them. I haven't talked to you in three whole days. And I gotta leave for work in fifteen minutes."

I hang my head. "That's not nearly long enough."

          	"It's never long enough."

The tension seeps from my shoulders. It's moments like this that I worry less about how it's going to be when Finley's here. The bittersweet look in his eye. The soft, sad words. The quiet staring even though he just said we only have fifteen more minutes to talk today.

Hi! I really loved and enjoyed not a temporary love story! It was a wonderful read and I am looking forward to can I lean on you! I had a question. How are you able to motivate yourself to write? Your stories come out wonderful and you have truly become an inspiration! So how does the inspiration get there? And how do you motivate yourself?

Thank you! This is really helpful actually and I will be sure to follow your advice. Thanks again!!!!

@Aspriringwriter2011 You are so sweet! I'd glad you're enjoying Finley and Harlyn's story so far!

Motivation for me fluctuates a lot, honestly. But at the most basic, I have to love the story. I have to love the characters and the world. I have to want to share the story with the world. Write what you love. Write stories that you want to read. That motivates me, because then I can read them over and over again. And that's not a brag of "oh, my writing is so amazing I can't help but read it all the time." I genuinely love my characters, and I write what I love to read. Motivation can still be hard, but that will help immensely.

Past that, it's really personal. Develop a writing habit, even if it's not every single day. Write consistently, whatever that means for you. Maybe you have twenty minutes every morning, maybe you only have the weekends. But just put words on paper!

I hope that helps! And thanks again for your kind words.
