Growing up I was never able to find characters in the media who struggled with their mental health, sexuality, gender identity, and their pasts in the same way that I did. Writing characters who struggle internally with many different aspects of life while being dragged into an epic fantasy tale with stakes far greater than life or death was something I wanted to see. So, I decided to write about it.
