@jimbob1999 They're certainly a very interesting culture, I really enjoyed reading about them. Athens was also very interesting politically and culturally, but for some reason I always found Sparta more intriguing lol. I definitely wanted to make Theodosia strong in some ways but weak in others since she isn't actually an experienced warrior like the people she was based off because while she has that identity and knowledge, she lacks in proper experience. Plus, that identity never included falling in love especially since she is made of wax. I read about Spartan marriage and it sounded so complicated, I still don't fully understand it, so I would imagine it was never her top priority lol. I wanted to show her weaknesses but her strength to overcome them. I also wanted her to resemble a more modern girl, because in the film franchise they never really take the ancient civilization part too seriously and a lot of the characters are more relatable than they actually would be, so I figured I would carry that through in my own story (plus it is way easier that way lol)
