I was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming but moved to Denver to enjoy the urban lifestyle, and I couldn't have made a better choice. I love it here in the Centennial state and will probably make it my permanent home.
My passion for writing began in first grade, and I've grown up with a love for macabre fiction. My work usually comes in the form of dystopian sci-fi horror novels, often that carry political undertones or follow a misguided protagonist struggling for freedom in a futuristic urban society. My favorite book of all time is George Orwell's 1984, but I'm just as likely to pick up a young adult series and devour that, too. I'm a huge fan of the Uglies and Hunger Games trilogies, and as a kid I adored the Shadow Children series, so dystopian sci-fi has been a favorite genre since grade school.
I also have quite a fascination with twisted short stories centered on family structures and dark love, and I particularly enjoy tinkering with the passion of a mother's love for her child, which could be considered the most unconditional and heartwarming form of love there is. Without mercy, I drag my characters into uncomfortable or morally questionable circumstances that turn the idea of motherly love on its head. I have a growing collection of short stories called "Mother Loves You" that are centered on this favorite theme. Some of these works include "Song of the Frogs," "Mother Riddley's Garden" and "The Organism."
When I introduce a story, it's mostly for myself, to play inside my own imagination, but when it comes to which novels or longer pieces I'm most likely to finish, let's face it, reader enthusiasm motivates me! I would love to someday develop a larger fan base for my work. Can't wait for your feedback!
