People who think Tohru Adachi was right are the same people who agree with the Joker... I wonder why Adachi is so popular among the Persona fandom.
He is correct about untalented people often struggling to succeed in life— however, he’s not untalented. You don’t just become a police officer just like that in Japan— it takes years of hard work and skill, which he has. It’s not about talent, it’s about his constant feelings of inadequacy that ruined him. It’s not “society” who ruined him, it’s his asocial behaviour and his habit of pushing people away out of fear of not being enough for them.
He’s such an interesting character, it’s frustrating to watch him get boiled down to “yeah society sucks!! kill the bitchy women!!” because that was NOT the point of his character arc at all. He’s not a victim, he’s someone who exhibits antisocial behaviour and has shown no remorse regarding his crimes.
