with the british gov sanctioning israeli settlers and stating out loud that there is an ethnic cleansing occuring, a lot of what i see from leftists is that its too little too late or a performative action thatll have little to no consequence for the zionist regime. there’s a real danger of the left eating its own tail with whataboutisms. while i agree that the gov should rightly be going as far as calling it what it is (gen0cide) and that it’s 75 years late, we should also be celebrating these small steps in the right direction from a leading world power, which has now paved the way for other european states - and canada!! - to follow its lead. there is so much work to be done but rather than arguing amongst ourselves i think the political left needs to work together towards a shared goal, which is a free palestine, and AGAINST the right that wants to destroy human decency.

@killersmuse i promise i was gonna make this exact same point lmao sadly we live in a time where we can’t nitpick because yes it’s a small step but not supporting it means the right will just get more momentum whilst we’re on this side left with complaining and moaning and leaving the only government who’s doing a little bit of good support less. sadly grass isn’t always greener. and we all know how G7 nations making a decision always makes others follow suit. france recognising palestinian state made everyone else do it too!!
