hot take: it should be Pen who really mentally "saves" Pencil in TPOT 24/25, not Match.
          	
          	Like Match can help, but I want most of the effort to be Pen's, making Pencil decide to befriend him and choose to hang out with him over Freesmart for a little while. I think it would fit the show better. Also I just swear the crew is planning for Pen to "Advocate" for Pencil, like pointing out how the others have kinda been failing her throughout TPOT by being exactly the way they think of her.
          	
          	And maybe I ship them a little bit but that's not the point.

How half of the people who saw TPOT 24 already describe how Pencil was in the episode: She was just suffering and everything was going wrong and she genuinely thought that she deserved it and she lost the right to fight back and she would've apologized to anyone who said she hurt them if such a thing happened because she just wants to go home and make peace and maybe despawn herself because she genuinely feels sorry for the people she hurt in the past and decided making so they don't have to deal with her anymore.
