Hello! Usually I try to avoid making announcements such as these but it's something that needs to be said! There have been lots of plagiarizing being that has been brought to light within these past two months across all fandoms on this app and it genuinely sucks that some people are like this.
It's not hard to credit someone, or to ask for their permission. There is a difference between choosing to plagiarize or being unaware that there are similarities between fics. However, this expands beyond similar ideas and concepts for fics. If you are actively stealing someone else's graphic for your own fic, knowing it does not belong to you, that is not okay at all. There are so many graphic shops and graphic lottos out there, with people who will be more than happy to make these graphics FOR FREE. Please do not steal graphics made by other people. This ruins the fun of this app. As well, guys, I shouldn't have to say this but this also applies to chapter titles.
Another thing. I usually don't mind if you take inspo from my fic. I understand what it's like to feel inspired by a fic and want to create something of your own. As long as you do so by crediting me, I am more than okay with that! In fact, it's heartwarming that there's someone out there who may be inspired by my [cringe] work!
What I don't like and wouldn't prefer is anyone doing this without my knowledge/permission, as well as not acknowledging it. This applies not only to my ideas -- but to my layouts as well. This includes my old layout for Faith, and the new one.
Most writers on here do it for the love of writing or creating content for their favorite interests. Just keep in mind these are things you are stealing from actual people, and it's discouraging to see so many plagiarism claims. It does not hurt anyone if you ask for permission -- the worst you can receive is a "no."
