A new friend I made on here suggested I post something that I like. Because my existence is writing these shitty stories of mine, I will post 1 yokai a day.

          Yokai #1

          Zashiki Warashi

Zashiki Warashi aka Zashiki Bokko, is a house spirit that takes the form of a small child. They are mischievous and like to play- as kids are- but loved by all, whose houses they haunt. They are said to bring good fortune and riches to these houses, making them almost wanted by many. They are considered guardian type ghosts or as gods of luck. Another nice thing these ghosts do is act as teachers to live kids in the house or will gladly be company to those lonely adults in the house.

For the most part the ghost kids aren't seen by adults other then a child sized shadow or shape. They are mostly seen by kids who describe the litte boy ghosts to be wearing a traditional warrior costume. While the little girl ghosts are often wearing a comono with their hair either in a short haircut or pulled back in a pony tail. They tend to be seen in Zashiki rooms (what they're named after).

          Footnotes:

Yokai- supernatural beings or spirits from Japanese folklore. But often have roots in Chinese folklore.

Zashiki- traditional style room covered in straw mats. Often used for guests.
