K. L. Leke, that's me. I write the kinds of stories I want to experience, stories filled with characters worth knowing, relationships worth investing in, and enough action and suspense to keep the pages turning.

A longtime romance reader and fan of ensemble action thrillers, I approached my first novel with a simple idea: write something I would want to watch. For me, writing starts with the characters and stories already taking shape in my head. That's another way of saying I have voices in my head.

I approach my characters almost like an actor approaches a role, stepping into their perspective and trying to feel their reactions as they happen. I'm not writing to deliver a larger message. I'm not that deep. I just want to tell stories readers can genuinely enjoy, with characters they can care about along the way.

My debut novel, The Prototype, is the first book in The Prototype Series.

Outside of writing, I'm a software engineer, and I've spent my career building things, solving problems, and turning ideas into something real.
