Hey, y'all, I just wanted to come on here and talk about the month of October. As some of you may know October is the month of national domestic abuse awareness. As someone who has been in a domestically violent situation, I just wanted to come on here and say that these situations literally alter your brain chemistry. At first you will be scared and confused, unsure of why it happened and how. Then you try and make excuses, whether it's for the person who did it, or for yourself for not leaving that person alone after it happened, depending on the situation. Next, you may start feeling self-hatred for allowing that to happen to you, even though you have no control over somebody deciding to be violent towards you. it's an uphill battle that a lot of people don't win, but for those of us who are able to move on from that, it does serve as a reminder that some people you just need to leave alone in life once they do things that are wrong. The Bible does say that we should not judge and that we should love and forgive everyone. However, you should not endanger yourself in doing so. Also to anyone else who may be affected by domestic violence, please remember that you are better than whatever situation you're in;whether you feel like it or not. It matters not what the gender of the person who did it is; domestic violence is wrong and people who commit such acts should face the legal and social consequences for doing so, always.
