᭧ ٫ days felt like weeks, weeks felt like months, time felt as if it had him choking on a leash, restricting him from the things that'd keep his mind occupied. he had felt so weak the night of his sister's death, wanting to do something, yet couldn't work up enough strength to do so .. he couldn't keep living that way, risking another chance of that instance ever happening again, maybe it would've been easier for him to close his heart off, not let anyone else close to him again in fear of that, but that was the easy way out .. instead, jayce fell into an unhealthy habit of working out until he dropped, picking up some mma training on the side in preparation of ever needing self defense .. he grew addicted to the high that came alongside fighting, the pain, the way it felt to knock down the opponent, it was all a rush that he couldn't get enough of, that filled a part of him that once felt so hollow. eventually, it became more fighting than it did working out, getting paid every once and awhile through placed bets, until he had found himself in an illegal practice .. underground fight clubs, one's no one could find out about unless sought out for, easy however, to get into with a track record of knockouts on your belt. jayce was hunted down more than most for these, people admiring the way he fought, how effortless it had seemed for him in spite of being beaten and bruised, it was as if nothing fazed him. it was ate up, people coming from all over to gamble on whether he'd win or lose each fight, and for him, it had only made the adrenaline spikes higher. he found a new home there, a new purpose, why was there any reason for him to turn back?
