i havent posted on here in a while, jeez

whenever i get time to write, other than og stories, i've been focusing more on my ao3 works bc rn i feel happier in an ao3 space when it comes to fics icl (yes, that means i can still work on counting stars since it's posted on ao3, too. loophole: found). BUT whenever i remember that story of how ares klld poseidon's son bc he hurt his daughter, i keep thinking abt an mc similar to that (been hurt badly romantically) who's also a daughter of mars bc i highkey dont like rick's portrayal of ares/mars, and i wanna veer away from that in this fic.
          i chose mars instead of ares bc a). i have a draft planned for this idea to be used (i dont wanna make new drafts, esp when im barely in the oc-fic world these days), which is an hoo jason grace love interest fic, and b). exploration of the mc's family dynamic with mars esp since she's roman and believes what she went thru is a "weakness" bc of the militaristic exposure, and idk it'll be interesting writing mars, who's prime militaristic, navigating this with her and his feelings abt the situation. plus her and frank bonding & her and percy bonding bc of percy's beef with ares/mars and how that would be tie into things. i fear it would get kinda dark at times, but i think it has potential. pjo would also be nice ngl bc there's more ares kids dynamics, but, again, i dont wanna make new fics, and i like the jason grace draft and i wanna write it sometime, so we'll see what i ultimately choose (if anything LMAOO).
          HOWEVER, this would mean another series, but it'd be shorter bc book 1: tlh, book 2: son, and book 3: moa-boo. so not too bad. bc like im gonna combine it with another draft, so there'll be dual mcs. 
          its not the series that's the problem, and not even the ideas bc im lowkey inspired for both mcs; it's just idk if i wanna write more oc-fics hkhfjhdf maybe i'll write it on the dl, plot it, and see if i feel up to publishing

beating back the temptation to impulse publish, but this time it's for my original stories

wanted to edit and publish the first chapter of set in stone, but im feeling a bit under the weather and tired from tossing and turning bc of said above reason to gather up the motivation to do any editing (im still so mad bc wdym im kinda sick during the SUMMER?! what is this bs?), so im prob gonna just do some plotting for some og stories instead. the set in stone chapter will have to wait until later this week i fear hjkdfh

reading over what i'd written for the verse fic with fresh eyes, and the part of me that's been ingesting verse writing styles for the past two weeks is telling me to split up some of the stanzas into more separate chapters for better effect for the verse style, but the prose part of me is bemoaning making the chapters even more shorter than they already are hdkjhfj 
          its gonna be so funny bc i bet the prose chapters in the fic are gonna be at least 10 pages, while the verse chapters are gonna be at most 5 pages, like just when you get used to the verse, you get whammed with the prose chapters and it cycles again until you make that your new normal, and i feel that's adequate for the symbolism of the mcs godly parents and their domains ngl dkjhhf

unpublished Afterglow and IWGYSW, sorry y'alls. while i do have ideas for them, my motivation for hp fics have been declining the past year, so idk when/if they will be published again. 
          
          i went into more detail why on my quotev account but an abridged version is other than jkr being more of a total btch, certain memories have tainted my previous drive to write for hp, and i've stopped accepting to pretend to be comfortable pushing through that whenever i write for most of my hp fics bc tbh it's tiring seeing them in my published now and i dont want that to seep into the rest of my writing.
          
          so im currently taking a step back to focus on other fandom fics and og stories. there will be some exceptions tho!! like Counting Stars (ive worked way too hard and have too many fond memories for it to be as affected as the others), and a few of my other hp drafts i hope to publish in the foreseeable future!! (again, i listed which ones in my quotev account, so if you want to know details, just look through there!)
          
          that's my overdue HP PSA (im actually pretty content about this; it's opening ways to other og/fic ideas & other writing styles i'd pushed to the back burner bc of me forcing myself to work on my hp fics)
