            ❖⠀⠀hails  from  the  west  blue.  the  west  blue  is  notorious  for  its  underworld  scene,  so  it’s  pretty  fitting  for  someone  like  giran  to  come  from  there.  he  likely  has  had  history  with  the  five  families  of  the  west  early  on  in  his  career,  but  probably  cut  himself  off  because  of  the  constant  infighting.  that,  and  he  got  bored  of  dealing  with  such  simple-minded  idiots.
            
            ❖⠀⠀never  stays  in  one  place  for  too  long.  he  often  calls  in  favours  with  pirates  who  owe  him  in  order  to  transport  him  from  island  to  island.  while  he  certainly  has  the  beri  for  it,  he  never  really  bothered  to  get  a  ship  of  his  own.  what’s  the  point  when  you’re  not  going  to  live  on  it  full—time  anyway?
            
            ❖⠀⠀greedy  as  he  is,  he  doesn’t  have  any  interest  in  claiming  the  one  piece  either.  let  the  pirates  deal  with  that;  he’s  perfectly  fine  with  his  racket  as  he  is.  being  a  broker  brings  in  a  pretty  penny,  after  all,  and  giran  doesn’t  care  much  for  fame  or  power  either.  wealth  and  respect  is  enough.
            
            ❖⠀⠀his  bounty  stands  at  around  260,000,000  beri.  not  a  bad  amount  at  all  for  someone  who  isn’t  a  pirate.  
            
            ❖⠀⠀⁽  ⁿᵒⁿ ᶜᵃⁿᵒⁿ˒  ᶠⁱˡᵐ  ᵍᵒˡᵈ  ⁾   he’s  probably  been  invited  to  the  gran  tesoro  once,  but  gambling  isn’t  really  his  thing  anyway.  
            
            ❖⠀⠀⁽  ⁿᵒⁿ ᶜᵃⁿᵒⁿ˒  ᶠⁱˡᵐ  ʳᵉᵈ  ⁾   he’s  not  that  much  of  a  diehard  fan,  but  he  does  probably  enjoy  a  couple  of  uta’s  songs.  his  favourite  is  fleeting  lullaby.  i  think  it  fits  his  whole  eccentric  vibe  well.

            ❖⠀⠀still  goes  by  his  usual  alias,  giran.  he’d  still  be  a  broker,  with  his  specialty  being  rare/illegal  goods  or  custom  weapons.  he  also  deals  in  information,  whether  it’s  for  bounty  hunters  looking  for  their  next  target  or  pirate  crews  looking  for  a  potential  new  crewmate  strong  enough  to  join  their  ranks.  one  thing  he  will  always  refuse  to  trade  in  is  slave  auctioning,  though,  no  matter  what  price  he’s  given.  he’s  willing  to  cater  to  rookies  and  longtime  pirates  alike,  as  long  as  they  can  pay  up.
            
            ❖⠀⠀epithet  is  torihikigyōsha  (取引業者),  or  “the  dealmaker.”  it’s  not  a  name  he  got  at  the  discretion  of  the  world  government,  moreso  an  unofficial  one  he  got  through  word  of  mouth.  while  other  brokers  do  exist  in  the  verse,  giran  earned  his  title  by  being  one  of  the  most  consistent  in  securing  deals.  he’s  got  lots  of  underground  connections,  and  rumours  say  he  might  even  have  clientele  amongst  bigshots  like  the  four  emperors  or  the  seven  warlords  of  the  sea.  he’ll  neither  confirm  nor  deny  this  rumour;  probably  because  it  adds  a  bit  more  mystery  to  him.
            
            ❖⠀⠀paramecia  devil  fruit  user.  his  devil  fruit  is  called  the  joku-joku  no  mi;  joku  (濁)  meaning  “to  become  muddy.”  it  bears  more  or  less  the  same  mechanics  as  his  canon  verse’s  quirk;  it  allows  him  to  cause  minor  amnesia  to  his  target  after  touching  their  head.  not  a  devil  fruit  he  can  use  often,  especially  for  offense,  but  it  comes  in  handy  whenever  he  needs  to  slip  away  from  a  precarious  situation.
