@kookie-eater reading love stories aren't a haram, people have different options in it. but reading smut, yes it's totally haram, yk it's almost like p*rn but still it's a Minor sin, sadly no matter what it is, a sin is a sin and this zina (illicit sexual intercourse) sin is the biggest one. And you don't have to hesitate in asking okayy it's totally fine. you must be thinking why i read stories with it, idk about it before i started to read those kind of stories but now I'm trying to avoid them if you're wondering.
