            Honestly, I know what you mean, like why even have a fanfiction section if it's not supported as much. I like Wattpad too, because of it's design and functionality compared to other story sites.
            I've been thinking to expand to Ao3 recently, but that's a whole new environment in itself XD. That's crazy that your fic has been up for 10 years 0_0
            
            Also, I'm starting to notice that I do get spirts of interest/activity every time I be consistent uploads, making unique cover & character designs with my content in terms of quality over quantity and actually be social. (Especially since I currently write Star Wars and Halo fanfics and plan to expand, so I guess there's a good sized following for both.)Still learning on the story rankings thought, sometimes it makes no sense.
            
            Overall, I agree with your advice, I literally say the same thing basically lol. I currently write stories for fun and mainly for a hobby and practice for any official works in the future. I love doing what I do and I won't get far if I give up easily. Way too stubborn for that XD.
            
            Thank you for the reply honestly, it really enlightened me to Wattpad as a whole because of the highly competitive environment and controversy. (Not to mention the bots who pretend to like your stories too, and scammers) It's demoralizing to understand the issues but it won't stop me from doing what I love. ^-^

@IISovereignII in the end what matters most is doing it for yourself. I've had my fic up for 10 years and it seems like it might get decent engagement but in reality its getting like 2 readers max a year, but im committed to doing it for myself foremost and that's all that matters in the end! 

@IISovereignII Sorry for the late reply! I've been super busy. Tbh I find wattpad isn't the best for exposure especially with fanfics - they seem more catered toward originals and paid works. Ao3 is definitely popping for ff but I personally prefer the way wattpad works. What i find is good for engagement is when I read, comment, and vote with other users with similar interests!
