I'm gonna be honest whenever I read fanfics that have mental illness in the tags I always end up anxious about it. Mainly because the fanfics I've read that have mental illness as a theme they glamorise it, make a romance around it, and/or make it seem silly to have one. It just makes me uncomfortable with the bad fanfics. Although I have read some good fanfics that do play the theme of mental illness which are quite good, but then again this is wattpad so I can't really be sure if the fanfic is good or not by the first chapter lmao. Anyway just a little vent nothing personal really

@ktwritesstorys I couldn't agree more. I think its important to help others understand the depths of these disorders. Even here on wattpad. Glad someone agrees with me :)

@ThesmallLesbian I also never really liked 13 reasons why as well. And I know the people who glamorise mental illness in fanfics are probably kids but I really wish that someone would tell them that it's not ok to glamorise it. Its not anyone's job to teach them about it (except maybe school but we all know what the education system is like in some countries) I just wish that maybe school and/or parents/guardians were more open about the conversation instead of brushing it off, and saying that people grow out of it like how some fanfics portray it.

@ktwritesstorys I totally understand what your saying. Thats the reason I didn't like 13 reasons why. It glamorized $uicide for teens or younger audience. In a way that showed them its ok that's normal. Its also weird seeing people write about mental illness and then reading it you can immediately tell they don't have the slightest clue what that disorder is about. This cones with other health problems as well not just mental illness but mental health problems are written way more than other health problems.
