neurologically disabled teen boy who struggles academically, pressured by parents who keep piling work on him. he hates them, but deep down all he wants is their approval. he keeps pushing himself to try and live up to their standards, but he cant. he just cant.
but angel doesnt find joy and fulfillment through seeing big numbers on his papers and conditional love from his parents, he finds it through helping others who struggle. his intelligence isnt very standard, but he is kind and compassionate and a great friend. hes patient and understanding, much more than anyone has ever been with him, and that makes him smarter than they could ever know.
instead of saying "disabled people can do everything an able person can!", the message is "its ok that there are things you cant do, youre still spectacular in other ways".
