Hey yall! I’m so excited to be sharing “Of Immortal Make” here on Wattpad.
It’s hard to not get emotional. I mean, I am simply overcome with joy, with nerves, with anticipation and excitement!
I still remember rediscovering my little battered Moleskin after my husband and I moved from New York to Georgia and how excited I was for it to resurface. This little notebook was brimming with one-off ideas for stories–you know, those little blips of inspiration that come up in your day that make you go, “Oh! I’d read the hell out of that!” But ultimately never really come to anything more than a neat idea.
But this story was something different. Of all my little blips, this one had legs. Sure, the idea was very immature, a wobbling newborn giraffe at best, but there was something there that sparked the fire within me. I could even recall first coming up with the idea in a dreadfully painful literature class I had taken my junior year of college. One of those classes that just knocks the energy out of you like a punch to the gut, and that’s coming from someone who was an English major!
Anyway, that was, what, 2010? And so there I was, eight years later, standing among boxes and thumbing through this old notebook of mine, and I knew I had to jump back into this world.
Fast forward another, god, six years and I’ve finally put “Of Immortal Make” out there for readers to dive in, to experience my world, my characters–my people!
And man, I hope you love them as much as I do.
