Books: Flowers in the Attic series, Hunger Games series, Perks of Being a Wallflower,  Looking for Alaska, It's Kind of a Funny Story, To Kill a Mockingbird (and yes, I actually liked that book) 

Movies: It's Kind of a Funny Story, Hunger Games, Flowers in the Attic, Titantic, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Girl Interrupted (I haven't seen Perks of Being a Wallflower yet but I'm sure it'll be one of my next favorites)
