got diagnosed with hypoglycemia and my anxiety has gotten worse. does anyone have any advice? what changes should i make?

BishopAM

As someone who has been dealing with hypoglycaemia for years, there’s a lot I can tell you, but the first thing is that you don’t need to stress about it. This is something that can be managed with diet fairly well and you honestly stop feeling the impact of it once you’ve made the changes a normal part of your routine.
For more tangible advice though right now, try and shift from simple carbs to complex carbs, the sugar breaks down more slowly and gives you a longer release of energy throughout the day. Second, carry emergency candies/pop/juice/glucose gels with you at all times, sugar levels can drop randomly while you’re still working out how to manage it (I still carry them even though I’ve been dealing with it for a decade now).
And lastly, let a few people close to you know in case of emergency, let them down where you keep your emergency sugar (the juice or candies) and how you’d like them to handle it.
            I really hope this helps!!
