Laila Re was born on June 4, 1987 in Kabul, Afghanistan. She escaped from her native land with her family due to civil war. They lived as refugees in Islamabad, Pakistan until her family immigrated to Canada in 1991. Laila has been raised in Toronto, Canada since the age of 5 and it is where she currently resides. She earned her B.A, B.Ed and M.Ed at York University. She is a peace activist, certified teacher and poetess. Her first self-published poetry book, "Pieces to Peace", is now available for purchase on Amazon.com.
