"When I am dead, I hope it may be said:
'His sins were scarlet, but his books were read.'" Hilaire Belloc
"I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read on the train." Oscar Wilde, "The Importance of Being Earnest"
"He was born with a gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad. And that was all his patrimony." Rafael Sabatini "Scaramouche"

"Tell me not in mournful numbers
'Life is but an empty dream.'
For the soul is dead that slumbers
And things are not what they seem" Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I openly despise cliches; I guiltily use them when nothing else fits.

When I read a series and each book is written in a different character's point of view, thus making that particular book "theirs", I secretly like the person the best who writes the first one I read. I know; it's unfair.

I read deep books to make me feel as if I am clever and philosophical. When the deep gets too deep I have to go back to good old easy reading.

I am a hopeless romantic. I persist in believing in Happily Ever After, despite, or perhaps because of, all evidence to the contrary.

"'Make a remark,' said the Red Queen; 'it's ridiculous to leave all the conversation to the pudding!'."-Lewis Carroll
