rant-ish???????????? not really???? idk read if you want
i don't usually go around and flaunt my sexuality but since it's the end of asexual awareness week, i wanted to clarify what it means if you're still confused.
when someone you know refers to someone or themselves as ace, they mean asexual. no they don't mean that they go through mitosis, they mean that they don't feel any sexual attraction. this can be for many reasons. they could be born like that, it could be from trauma associated with sex, and many other reasons. now, this is the part that kind of ticks me off. because i'm asexual doesn't mean i'm not attracted to people, it's just romantic or aesthetic attraction. this means i still love the idea of a wholesome relationship with lots of cuddling, just no sex. with asexuality, there is a spectrum. " but sometimes i think about sex!" you're still ace. "but i'm not sex repulsed!" you're still ace. some aces ARE repulsed by sex and want nothing to do with it. some aces are pretty neutral, and don't hate sex, but don't love it either, like myself. some aces actually somewhat like sex, they just experience the attraction. it's a spectrum. if you think you're ace, really think about it and you may just realize that you are! and once you "come out", don't let anyone tell you that you're not. "but you masturbate!" you're still ace! "but i know you're not a virgin!" you're still ace. it's your identity! be who you are and don't be ashamed.
