Hello everyone,
As most of you may know, it's a crazy time in history right now with Black Lives Matter protests all around the world. In my home city, there have been mass demonstrations. With that being said, and with 465 followers, I feel like I have somewhat of a platform and I should use that to spread awareness and justice. I completely support Black Lives Matter and I 100% believe that we should all work together to create a world where black lives are valued. I am a white female with privilege and I fully acknowledge it and so I want to use that privilege to support people protesting the injustices and to demolish racist values, seeing as for some messed up reason many people don't have this same privilege. I don't completely understand the terror and the pain many people within the black community are feeling, and to say I do would be ignorant, but I do want to say that I completely stand by you, I hear you, and I am on your side and doing everything I can to get justice for the victims, their families, and everyone else who is fed up with the injustice in this country.
I want my books to offer a safe space for everyone regardless of race, sexual orientation, religion, etc. I want every single one of my readers to understand that I will not stand for any hateful or racist comments or thoughts on my books and if anyone has a problem with that, please feel free to not read my books and unfollow me.
Now is the time for us to work together as a community, whether that is through sharing on social media, signing petitions, donating, or protesting, every action counts. And to everyone protesting, make sure you keep wearing your masks, and please stay safe.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many other innocent souls taken in the worst way possible.
