does anyone know how to write a torture scene? because i really need one for my current book, and i'm having a lot of trouble. i just need a few tips and ideas. please message me!
@JustaPerson231 thank you! don't worry, i know plenty of torture techniques (much to my friends mix of fascination, horror and surprise) but i don't know how to utilised them. i don't like writing torture scenes because the physical and psychological torture of a living being disgusts me, but i guess i'm pretty hypocritical because i've read plenty of fictions revolving around dark subjects like that.... get ready for a hell of a chapter.
@leavemelikeudo yes, actually. So, you make it as gut-wrenching as possible. You want the readers to be able to feel the pain. Make the reactions realistic, may that be the torture(s), tortured, watchers, or saviors. Have realistic torture methods, ones from the medieval ages work splendid, but you can also include more present technologies like guns and knives and shit (I find that a mix of both works wonders on getting people.) Now, if it's less of wanting the readers to feel the pain, don't make it as bad as you can. I mean, you can, just fewer details will have to go into it and thats not very fun, it's better when you can write all that you want. I'm scared of how this information may possibly be used, but I look forward to reading something like that. I'm not the devil, I swear.

does anyone else pretend to be happy and energetic throughout the day, to the point that they're so fucking exhausted at the end day, and desperately want to cry, but when they get the opportunity to cry alone, they can't, and just let themselves break. they just feel so fucking numb, and they just want to be alone, even though they have an irrational fear of being alone.
