I your book arranged marriage, could you make it so that Nevea was manipulated into being an assassin by her aunt when she was younger, and that's why she's so good at fighting. Like let's say her aunt or someone else put her into being an assassin, and she's the best of them, but it traumatized her, and she doesn't want to talk about it.
