I attended a memorial for Brianna Ghey today, and I just wanted to say, to all of my trans followers: you are so loved. I accept you for you, whatever pronouns you use, including neos and xenos. You deserve healthcare and love and unconditional support from the people in your life and I am so deeply sorry if you are not receiving that right now. Please, never be afraid to reach out to me if you need someone.
And to my cis followers: Listen to your trans mutuals, and hug your trans friends a little tighter the next time you see them.
Brianna deserved a long and full life. She deserved time to transition in any way that felt right to her. She deserved finding love and friendship and opportunities. She deserved a future. I am absolutely heartbroken and devastated that she did not get that. The memorial tonight really hit home for me.
Brianna, I am so sorry. The trans community will never forget your name and will continue to keep you alive in our hearts.
Please, if you can't be anything else— be kind.
Stay strong, and never stop fighting
