Book two
She was fifteen when the world went dark.
One minute, she was walking home from school. The next, she was in a locked room with no windows and no name. The girl she used to be—the one who laughed too loud, who dreamed of dancing in the rain—disappeared that day. In her place stood someone quieter, colder, broken in ways no one could see.
Years passed. Men came and went. Her voice stopped working. Her heart stopped trying. Hope became a cruel joke she learned not to tell.
Until him.
He wasn’t supposed to be there. Not in that place. Not in that world. But when his eyes met hers across a crowded room, everything froze. He looked older now, sharper. But she knew that face—because once, it was the only one that made her feel safe.
He remembered her.
And then, he saved her.
But freedom doesn’t come with instructions. And love doesn’t fix what years of silence destroyed.
She doesn’t know who she is anymore.
And he doesn’t know how to reach her.
But he’s trying.
