            the side of kokichi's lips rises slightly, his head tilting in intrigue before he had let loose arms fall beside him. "oh? why them?" he inquired, inching towards the tray of sweets on the counter. it was probably because he didn't fully understand the concept of gratitude. as far he knew, their classmates were uninteresting and selfish; there was nothing to be thankful for. but such musings might just be from his cynicism.
            
            his hand then reached for a freshly baked cookie—the pale one with the pink thing in the center. though, before he could touch it, his hand stopped abruptly. "may i?" he lifted his gaze to his acquaintance, looked at her cutely, and asked her like a polite kid, his tone a little teasing. it was peculiar enough that he was making efforts to suppress his tactlessness, but he didn't mind doing so if it came to her.
