perhaps that 's why the young woman seemed to jump slightly at the sound of someone else 's voice , he had been silent , or at least she hadn 't heard anyone trail behind her , although her hood did obstruct her vision from over her shoulder . instinctively she turned , her free hand reaching for the huntsman knife residing on her corset . although , she seemed to pause for a moment , noting that the stranger had no weapons drawn . eyes wandered over the stranger, as if trying to get a read on the unusual figure . there was something off about this whole thing , about him in general . he held no weapon, but it was still strange , how long had it been since these woods had someone else roaming them , let alone storybrooke as a whole .ᐣ ⠀⠀⠀ruby 's hand fell , quickly fixing her posture and standing up straight again , shifting the woven basket in her hands upon doing so . ❝ ... apologies , i didn 't hear you , it 's not usual for visitors to come out here .. not alone , anyhow . ❞ she hadn 't been expecting visitors , let alone a stranger , who would dare venture out here , let alone all the way in the deeper parts of the forest .ᐣ hadn 't anyone warned him of the area , or did he seek it out for that reason .ᐣ falling silent for a moment before red cleared her throat , sage eyes lifted before her features seemingly furrowed , almost a nervous laugh following after . ❝ ... is it .ᐣ pay no mind to the chatter .. it seems tales travel faster than the wind in this town . ❞ [2.5]

now of age to take care of herself , red found herself moving from her granny 's .. now occupying a desolate cabin that laid deep within in woods of the fairy tale town . a quiet location , she was the only one who had resided there ... so it was no surprise that it became towns talk , or that rumours spread . and in turn did the woods gain a reputation , being one of the few areas in the cozy town that nobody should ever lay foot in for the beast that supposedly lived in the forests crevices , lying in waiting to maim and eat its next meal . ⠀⠀⠀ruby found herself in a more complicated situation than what she really accounted for , a mix between an outsider and a friend to some of the other .. unique characters that resided in the small outer skirts of the mysterious town . sure , red could say she had friends , snow or charming mainly , but there were still plenty people who were weary of the woman in red . but could ruby really blame them .ᐣ she found it was easier to stay on the outskirts of town than it was to stay inside it — there were less people out here . which in turn meant less questions , less stares or offhanded remarks . hadn 't they known it wasn 't her choice ⠀.ᐣ the curse laid on her family lineage was anything but what she wanted , despite the fact it was a curse that only took part on the full moon , red saw it fit to take more precautions than perhaps necessary , alas another incident happened . and , it was peaceful out here , red never found herself getting many visitors , unless it was one of the few people in her circle . she would say it got lonely at times , however it was safer this way , and at least she would know when any huntsman stepped foot towards her woods again . there were rarely any disturbances , the woods were unpopular for a reason , or so people would tell . but those were just rumours , weren 't they .ᐣ [2]

@toujoursleurloup .. ⠀⠀⠀soft footsteps sounded throughout the woods, black flats stepping carefully , green eyes surveying the area, long brown hair swishing beneath the red fabric of the cloaks hood over her head, woven basket in hands, filled with bread and apples that she had stopped absent mindedly to pick for the bowl in her desolate cabin. it was a quiet day for little red riding hood,, nothing but the sound of wildlife around her along with the cracks of sticks and bramble that she stepped over. the woods were thick and deep, darker as you walked into the more overgrown parts of them, yet she navigated the area with ease. there were no paths for wanderers or visitors to follow, to everyone but ruby, that was. she had lived here long enough to know the forest like the back of her hand, second nature to the girl cloaked in red. the basket weighed a bit in her hands, hues flickering down for a moment, as if to make sure she hadn't lost anything. it seemed like not too long ago she would take a path similarly to this to her grandmother's, treats in hand back then too, perhaps some things never changed.ᐣ it wasn't often she ventured into storybrooke without a reason, a mix between being casted away and welcomed. red liked it out here.. but the bread at the local bakery was always something she still stocked up on. it was quaint, unusual, but it was home.. or at least that's what little red wished she was able to still say. ⠀⠀⠀⠀the woods were left untouched asides from her, nothing except a few apples or berries picked to show that someone was living here, or perhaps the footsteps in the soil, mixing with those of the animals that she shared the area with. the town of storybrooke was unusual for anyone who didn't ' grow up ' there, time standing still, something of a fairytale, let alone the residents mimicking that very phrase as if they too were from the tales that would be read to kids at bedtime. but sure enough, it was all a coincidence, was it not.ᐣ [1]
