Yay, writing again. Been looking forward to writing this character since I decided to include her in my new story (some nonsense about magical mind-control, apparently). Anyway, here's a snippet for you to enjoy:

She was just thinking that she’d got one over on her husband when an impossible vision of femininity passed by on her right, having presumably emerged from one of the doors in the hallway.
She was tall, long legs tapering almost perfectly from wide hips towards bare feet that were being placed on the deep carpet of the suite with the grace of a dancer. There was an elegant curve to the small of her back, and a cool confidence in the shoulders as they kept an easy rhythm with the sway of her long stride. The lines on her face and the sweep of silver hair suggested she was somewhere in her fifties, but the warm smile and the lively twinkle in her beautiful hazel eyes as she turned her head to acknowledge her guest suggested that her soul remained considerably younger. What caught Helen’s attention most, however, was a twinkle of a different kind, evoking something utterly timeless, in the style of a goddess of the silver screen. Diamonds, sparkling brightly at her throat, hanging mesmerizingly from her ears and adorning her right wrist and her left ankle.
“I’m so sorry, Darling, do let me go and throw something on,” said the vision, disappearing into a side room. Helen blinked and realised that she’d been so distracted by the expensive stones that she’d completely failed to notice the woman had been wearing nothing else whatsoever.

Snippet over. What do you lovely people make of that, then, eh? :)

V3!

Well, V3-5, actually, because the centre I go to has this weird thing where they grade things approximately, so I've been doing 2-4s recently, but not counting those as 3s because it could be down at the 2 end of the spectrum, but a V3-5 is definitely a V3 minimum, so, yeah, V3.

Target achieved! Now I want to do another one...

Utterly unworked chapter opening for Chapter 2:

"She didn’t make it to the Sunday morning yoga session, on account of her red wine hangover, so she promised herself she would go on Tuesday after school. She was coming back home after this afternoon session in the village hall when she found the man outside her front door."

          Dun dun durrr!

New writing project! Because that's what I need, yet another half-baked idea that I can half-bake in my half-bakery...

Current search history: earthenware figure, 1970s feminism, five-star hotels in Seattle

What could it all mean? :)

So, self-isolation is fun, but remember kids, when this all blows over and the idiots in charge try to claim they saved everyone, we need to maintain our social dissidence... ;)
