I’ve been revisiting a drabble I wrote last year, and rewatching Peaky Blinders has me wondering—what was Freddie Thorne like before the war? I keep imagining him as a conscientious objector who either joined the war effort due to trouble with the law or because Tommy enlisted. Would that be out of character for him?

After nearly a year away, I’m returning with a new name and a brand new Tommy Shelby one-shot I’ve been writing over the past three years.
