Hi everyone

I had been away for a while and that long gap did teach me a lot of things- lot of necessary things in life :(. But now I'm back to my refuge again.

@linnet17 Thank you for voting for Chapter One of my story Songs for Tamar. You'll find my writing style different from the rest of my stories.

The real Tamar was the daughter of King David of Israel some three thousand years ago. In this story I have worked within the larger story on King David. As you have read, it begins on the day that King David brings the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem.

The only fictional character in the first chapter is Jesse Ben Ezra.

The dialogue approximates that of the English used in the King James Bible. I have done my best to represent the Hebrew culture as it was then.

Absalom was a complex character and more so in this story. One thing about the real Absalom that is unmistakable: he loved his sister Tamar so deeply that he gave the same name to his daughter.
