#AbuseAsATheme
Part 2
Writers, your stories influence somebody. Just like movies, games and music. Most of you have no concept of the fine line of realism in fiction. Fiction is stories that are not real, they are made up, but they should be somewhat realistic.
First of all, logic dictates that if you abuse someone and like it. There is no way you will justify it and it will make sense. If you think someone killed your parents, get them arrested and if you are being extreme you get your psycho revenge and leave it at that. If you do fall for your abuser, it becomes Stockholm Syndrome and no sane person who loves you will ask you to stay with your abuser because of destiny or fate or will say to you "if you're happy, I'm happy."
Abuse is real and it's nasty and leaves me horrified, I don't want to lose that feeling because that's how it should be.
We live in the 21st century and none of you writers ever consider therapy for your characters?
All I'm saying is, tell a story that makes a good and positive impact in people's lives. This is how people's minds are shaped this is how we contribute to society. Think about it for a second, really, would you want to spend the rest of your life with your abuser as a life partner or with someone who has that history with someone else? I wouldn't want to even be in the same area as you, let alone live with you. Even if you're sorry for your actions, you can sorry from a great distance or from jail... That's just me though.
Look I may not be a writer, but I am a reader. I support all you writers and think all of you are amazing, some have room for improvement, but that's a whole new topic <3
