My substitute is teaching us poetry, right? Yeah, so she gives us a worksheet. On the worksheet is a question: "Describe how the speaker uses poetry to express their love for the person whom the poem is directed towards."

So, this sub, she goes on a rant about how "they/their/them" isn't correct when referring to people. And my friend starts defending trans people and their rights and THEIR RIGHT TO E REFERRED TO BY ANY PRONOUN THEY WISH, and the teacher-substitute is like, "Using They/Them is incorrect and stupid." Like, bitch, DIE.

The substitute in question goes to the same Catholic Church as I do. But I didn't think she was a homophobic Catholic. I'm certainly not.

Also, I kind of dislike the term "homophobic/homophobe/homophobia". Like, your not scared, your just an asshole.

Anyway, as a retaliation, I changed all pronouns on my worksheet to "they/their/them" and I also made multiple copies of a post-it that said, "The sub is a 59 year old homophobe" and I hid them all over the classroom.

Also, to the sub? Lafayette says, "Merde tu."
