⚠️ SPOILER WARNING – House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 1 ⚠️

I genuinely don’t know how to put into words how heartbroken I am after watching the first episode of House of the Dragon Season 3. I knew this story was always going to be tragic, but nothing prepared me for losing Jace. He was one of the characters who carried hope, loyalty, and compassion even as the world around him was falling apart. Watching him fight so bravely only to meet such a cruel end shattered me.

Jace wasn’t just another prince or dragonrider—he was Rhaenyra’s future, someone who constantly put his family and duty before himself. His relationship with his mother, his determination to protect those he loved, and the quiet strength he showed throughout the series made him impossible not to care about. Seeing Vermax fall and then watching Jace’s final moments was one of the most painful scenes the show has ever given us.

I honestly cried more than I expected. It feels strange to be so attached to a fictional character, but that’s what great storytelling does—it makes you love people who never existed and grieve them as if they did. Harry Collett brought so much warmth and humanity to Jace that his death feels like losing one of the last lights in this war.

For now, I think I need time to recover before watching the next episode. Rest in peace, Prince Jacaerys Velaryon. You deserved so much more than a battlefield and a tragic ending
