For clarification, protests are still going strong and the movement is very much not dying, but what I was referring to was that on social media the attention it was getting was slowing down.

          This is all one huge mess, and it absolutely isn’t something that should just “go away” after the two weeks we were mad about it and it stopped being a “trend”. We need to stay mad, keep contributing to petitions and educating ourselves on these things, especially because we are the generation inheriting this country (if you happen to live in America). 
          
          Not that you shouldn’t enjoy things, have fun and take time for yourselves, but don’t just turn a blind eye to things after this is “over”. Luckily, changes are already being made, but it’s not enough. I suppose this is just a call to stay active in advocating, stay aware and listen to black voices as well as you can. Because this thing isn’t going to go away as soon as the media stops talking about it. It’ll still be a problem until it’s totally fixed and no longer is one. 
          
          So anyways, thanks for reading this far if you did, and don’t forget to check out my bio and the link there. The petitions are so quick and easy to sign it hardly takes twenty seconds. But if I said something out of pocket or ignorant to POC in this whole thing, don’t hesitate to DM me and I’ll fix it.           So I haven’t been very active on Wattpad about this, mostly because most of my efforts have been on Insta and Twitter, also my scarce follower count, but I wanted to say my part here, and also I wanted to bring attention to the fact that I now have a link in my bio that have petitions, ways to educate yourself, etc. for those interested.
          
          I’m going to try and keep this short and simple, so let’s get to the point; police brutality. I apologize for my language beforehand. At this point, it’s clear that police are just plain cruel no matter what, white, black, child, elderly, a fact that’s been highlighted by these peaceful protests turned violent by the police. Now, of course they are much crueler to black people than everyone else, but the fact of the matter is is that anyone whose opposing them gets fucked over, black people significantly more at these protests.
          
          They way that there are so many videos and firsthand witness accounts of this unprovoked police brutality both in the midst of the protests and when they have arrested protesters, yet the news hasn’t covered shit about it. It’s clear that these aren’t just “a few bad apples”, it’s the whole system which needs reform. Yknow, the rest of that idiom is “a few bad apples rots the whole barrel” and I think it sums up the situation perfectly. (Not that all cops are bad people, but due to the Blue Wall of Silence and in general either being unwilling or unable to condemn they’re corrupt colleagues, as of now they can’t be good cops. This is a whole longer conversation that I’m not about to go into atm, but you can definitely look it up for a better take and explanation of the whole deal)

           As you all know Police officer Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd. The is officer kept his knee on George's neck for 8 minutes, while George repeatedly said he couldn't breathe. This is murder, nothing less of it.
          
          This is not the first time a white officer has done to African Americans and if we do not stop this by taking action, it will only become permanently a that way with no last time.
          
          Please sign the petition. it is located on the external link on my bio. It will only take 30 seconds or less of your time. I had already did the signing and

          Include that with a message expressing your anger for this monster behavior.
          
          Twitter so far has done a great job at trending this issue. Now it is Wattpad's turn to do the same! Don't ignore this and do your part everyone. Little or big, it all counts

Follow-Up Announcement: Although I will be taking a break from Wattpad, don’t be surprised if my poetry book “child(hood)” sees an update or two because I might indulge in some vent poetry. Not sure how enjoyable that will be to read, but just a heads up if you see notifications still coming from me. That should be all 

Announcement: For personal reasons I’ll be taking a hopefully brief break from Wattpad, I’m unfortunately not in a good enough headspace that leaves room for, for the lack of a better phrase, social interactions and the like. I’m sorry, but I felt it would be better to give an explanation before dropping out of the community, you could say, with no explanation to be had.
