Okay guys I need your opinions for my upcoming dr who fics. I know that Red has really long chapters, but I was thinking of shortening the chapters and having more of them so they’d all be about 2/3/4,000 words each rather than 2 chapters for each episode which are sometimes 10,000+.
Would you guys like that format??
Writing characters with depression is difficult because I have to try and capture a sort of instability of her personality and character but also have it believable in regards to her character (that makes sense in my head but idk if it does here) and I worry every time she does something remotely happy or funny people might think she’s inconsistent or not actually depressed (even tho I know exactly how this kind of depression and grief feels whilst being in a relationship with similar aspects to the doctors and charlottes - idk why I am stressing so much tbh)
… just know I am writing the next chapters of all of my books haha
@ThinaGa tbh I think I’ve already done that so honestly idk why I’m so stressed. I just want to get it right
What if you mentioned that insecurity in the work? Because of society, a lot of people with depression feel fake because they’re feeling good for a moment or appear to be feeling good for a moment.
I want to be a published author so badly.
Unfortunately, I have yet to commit to an original book because I also really enjoy writing fanfictions.
@-Bellerose- sameee i have a few ideas,, but like. it would take ages for me to get anywhere with them so its like 'maybe later' then it never happens
How do you guys feel about love triangles ?
@-Bellerose- it depends what type, like a true love triangle (character A likes character B but B likes C and C likes A), yes. It’s really interesting if done right. But if character B and C both like character A it’s a bit meh. Better if done well though
I’m all in for a good love triangle, but only if it makes you feel something in your heart. For example, seeing a really happy couple who are in love with each other and there’s a really supportive friend or someone they know who is secretly pining for the individual. However, they wouldn’t go out of their way to try and steal said love interest from their partner because they understand that that person is happy and sometimes love doesn’t go both ways. But we see and feel the pain of knowing that loving someone you can’t have and pretending to be fine is another type of pain that on some level, we all experience. Human emotion is messy, but I love it.

Starting off the new year strong! Have written for Red and one of my unpublished fics (Plot Twists) - and I would’ve written even more if my boyfriend wasn’t around but I don’t write much when he is because I like to be present with him so imagine how much I’ll get done when he’s at work!
