I could use my bio to tell you about my hobbies and of course, the name of my cat. Instead I decided anyone reading this would be more interested in why a middle aged woman with a successful career would want to write a steamy erotic novel. Well here goes....

Just like Fifty Shades of Grey, my novel is actually a trilogy. The first chapter to be written was High Class and Horny (from Eros Imagined), which was started life as a private love letter - an intimate recounting of something that actually happened. I really did buy some seductive lingerie with provocative red-laced openings and pretend to be a prostitute. The ensuing sex occurred exactly as described in the chapter, the only difference being that it took place in a small hotel during weekend away with my husband. Just like the story, I made him pay for sex and only returned his money the following morning. That was the first of our many role-playing adventures. Having put two and two together, you will realise that the main female character in the first book is a thinly disguised version of myself and John Delaney is my real-life lover. We don't live in London, but if we did it would be somewhere like Highgate or Hampstead.

The sex scenes in the EROS scenarios were all based, to a greater or lesser extent, on our steamy role-playing adventures. All I had to do was change the setting and create a vaguely plausible back story. Once I got started, there was no stopping me and within a very short space of time I had written several very raunchy short stories. But there was something missing. I didn't want to just write about sex, I wanted to write a real story with a beginning, middle and end. What I needed was a thread linking the scenarios together. That's where the idea of a virtual reality sex machine and a dystopian society where only the privileged few are entitled to engage in sexual intercourse comes in. I hope you enjoy my first foray into the world of adult literature.
