guess what i'm making while school's closed?
yes, it's a story about hurricane dorian, a very catastrophic hurricane that caused widespread damage to the Bahamas with unrelenting winds of 185 miles per hour. it was also the strongest hurricane to make landfall there as well, and not only that, but it's also tied with the 1935 Labor Day hurricane (you'd probably know) for the strongest landfall on record.
the name of the story is called "Ghost Town", and it follows the perspective of Leigh Hartmann, who was a lucky survivor of the hurricane, and this was also inspired by.....
my listening assignment.
ok, so i was imagining a thing where i listened to a piece that we were supposed to play for LGPE, but unfortunately, it was canceled. in it, I wrote this:
"From the 5:08 to 6:42 mark, the piece portrays the aftermath of either a war or a natural disaster. When the piece continues to play, a person may walk over and see the destruction left behind from that event, lost and distraught of the possibilities to further rebuild. By 6:29, the wind blows aggressively quiet, and quickly turns into a ghost town, where no one is there, and where everyone evacuates out of the area. No possible attempts to rebuild had been made except for something. A person finds the pieces that were blown away from the natural disaster and he/she thinks of a plan to rebuild with everyone from that area in it."
ik it's long, but that's the point.
just wanted to make this announcement, despite the coronavirus still around, see you all later and stay safe and healthy!
