            that caused caesar to let out a laugh , this laugh however was much more different than the previous one , this one was far more richer..  more vibrant in nature than the last .  it felt warm just to hear , like the italian sun which often beamed down at them .  unlike now , the sun was slowly going down , which bought out the city lights even more .  “ sei esilarante  ,  jojo !  ” he continued to laugh for a moment longer before his laughter finally ceased .  “ never hurts to keep an eye out .  learned that the hard way .  ” he didn’t further explain as to WHY , and he could only hope that joseph didn’t think too much on it by asking further .  caesar’s past wasn’t something he was proud of , tending to prefer to keep it hidden rather than having it exposed .  the only two people who knew were lisa lisa and suzi..  he wanted to keep it that way .  “ at least i can say with confidence that i’ve even had a girlfriend .  can’t say the same for you .  ” as if he knew about joseph having a girlfriend in the past anyways , aside from the light teasing , caesar never really asked or pushed further on the matter .  “ maybe you are  ,  but i’m most certainly am not .  ” he softly rolled his eyes , though throughout all the teasing caesar felt his expression change yet again .  he couldn’t fully hide the display of sadness in his eyes nor in his face , caesar then took a deep breath .  arms resting against the balcony near joseph .  “ my family’s honor is on the line  ,  whether it’s fate or destiny..  i must fulfill it .  regardless if you believe in your own or not .  ” he was serious , he would defend the zeppeli bloodline..  no matter the cost .

                joseph stiffened the second caesar’s hand ruffled through his hair . `` oi — ! `` his protest came fast , instinctive , and far less annoyed than it should’ve been . he swatted at caesar’s wrist , trying to fix his hair with exaggerated offense . the truth was , the gesture caught him off guard more than the words did . joseph wasn’t used to people noticing . not the stress . not the cracks under the jokes . his eyes narrowed slightly , but there wasn’t any bite behind it . `` tch ... you really do pay too much attention . `` he leaned back against the railing , looking up at the sky for a moment . taking things slow ,  that sounded impossible to him . joseph had always moved forward because standing still meant thinking too much . and thinking too much meant remembering the clock ticking inside him . how many days did he have left now ? twenty ? nineteen ? he rather not think about it . but Caesar made it sound ... easy . or at least worth trying . his gaze dropped back down when caesar admitted he hadn’t had a girlfriend in a while either . that got a laugh out of him .  `` hah . so all that talk , and you’re in the same boat as me ? `` his head shook in playful mockery . that meant he could possibly have a chance , especially after all this if he played his cards right . `` guess we’re both hopeless . `` he nudged caesar’s shoulder , rather lightly . then his expression softened , quieter .  `` ... and for the record , i don’t think you have to be the serious one all the time . `` joseph’s voice lost its teasing edge for once .  `` you’re carrying a lot too . `` he ran a hand through his strands as a soft hum left him . 

perhaps it was just natural older sibling energy or something more .  “ no need to thank me .  i tend to notice how stressed you’ve become despite how much you try and hide it .  ” caesar had a keen eye for such a thing , which is why he tried not giving joseph a harder time than he usually does .  they were both young men with a lot on their hands , including their family’s destines .  whether or not joseph chose to believe his .    “ just remain positive .  one of us at least has to  ,  considering you think of me as the more ‘serious one’ which i HAVE to be .  ” he pursed his lips for a moment , shifting his distance but keeping close enough .  “ and if it makes you feel better  ,  i haven’t had a girlfriend myself in quite some time .  never could find the right time .  as if NOW is any better..  ”
