i wrote this many years ago it looks at the battered wives hostel and the enviroment that abused wives and children are thrust into when they have no where and no one to help them and it is a matter of life and death with no choice except to escape their abusers.

runaways.
          a woman abused has no choice,
          she suffers alone with no voice,
          with little hope and beyond all emotion,
          she walks away causing no commotion,
          
          thrust into a world of which little is known,
          with crying children hanging to clothing,
          sent to a place where time stands still,
          where everyone there has lost their will,
          all crammed together with the same to say.
          every abused all runaways.
