@loverswiki | IKR?? representation for black girls is still something that deserves WAYY more attention, especially when it comes to giving them actual personalities, storylines, and characters who aren't just there to fill a diversity quota. some of the only times i see a black girl in movies or shows are when they’re the protagonist’s girl best friend. and they’re almost always sassy and headstrong.. can we get something more? i'm filipino, and i know how frustrating it can be to look at a show and rarely see people who look like you represented in a meaningful way. black girls deserve to see themselves as protagonists, love interests, nerds, athletes, villains, weird girls, popular girls, quiet girls, chaotic girls, literally anything. they shouldn't have to settle for one stereotypical character being the "representation." like why aren't there MORE diverse characters in general?!? there's room for black girls, filipino girls, latina girls, asian girls, indigenous girls, mixed girls, and everyone else to exist in the same stories without having to fight over a limited number of spots. not saying shows never have black girls, but they deserve better representation !!!!!
